Post More options for SeriesDataEntry
on: May 15, 2012, 15:36

Hi

I have some charts that use a datetime x-axis and I'm currently setting the data like this -

chart.setOption(new OptionPath("/series"), listSeries);

where listSeries is a list of hashmaps - each map having a series name and a list of data points.

This all works perfectly but I now want to add some additional data for each plot point. I'm already doing this for scatter charts where I record a name and an id against each point -

new SeriesType.SeriesDataEntry(x, y, new SeriesDataEntryOpt("name", pointName), new SeriesDataEntryOpt("id", id));

Unfortunately I can't do this with a datetime axis chart as the x value needs to be a UTC date string and the SeriesDataEntry constructor that takes a string as it's first argument assumes the value is a point name.

Is there an alternative way for me to do this or would it require an update to the library (assuming it's still supported)?

Many thanks in advance,
Andre

Hi Andre.
I'll start from the last question (assuming it's still supported): well, I'm working on very different staff but anyway I try to fix this product when someone requires new features.

Obviously the spare time to dedicate to it is not so much but I'll find it.

In the future probably I'll try to migrate to a more flexible team based structure (like github) in order to allow other people to start from my work and make the needed extensions and to share with people.

Anyway, first question, now I'm at work so I'll try to give a try this evening to find a solution.

Daniele
