HighCharts-GXT/GWT Project The official HighCharts-GWT/GXT adapters blog

12Apr/112

New HC-Gxt Version 1.2.1 is out

What's new

After some requests added support for options inside points of series.
For each point it is not possible to specify the color, etc. (see HighCharts-JS Reference).

    // Creates a point with Y-value 5
    SeriesDataEntry entry1 = new SeriesType.SeriesDataEntry(5);
    // Sets its color
    entry1.setSubOption("color", "#ff0000");

    SeriesType series = new SeriesType(
        "test",
        entry1, // first entry
        // Otherwise
        // inline second entry
        new SeriesDataEntry(15, new SeriesDataEntryOpt("color", "#3c3c3c"))
    );
    try {
      series.setSubOption("/dataLabels/enabled", false);
    } catch (Exception e) {
      e.printStackTrace();
    }

  1. I’m new to HIghCharts-GXT.

    Can anyone please tell me the compatible version of GXT and GWT with HC-GXT 1.2.1 .

    Basically I am facing some issue at the time of configuring HC-GXT and it seems this is compatibility issue with GXT and GWT.

    I’m facing this issue :

    org.gxt.adapters.highcharts-1.1.7.jar!/org/gxt/adapters/highcharts/codegen/sections/OptionManager.java
    [ERROR] Line 187: The method getComponentType() is undefined for the type Class
    /org.gxt.adapters.highcharts-1.1.7.jar!/org/gxt/adapters/highcharts/codegen/utils/ClientConsole.java’
    The method log(String, Throwable) in the type GWT is not applicable for the arguments (String)

    Any suggestion or comments are most welcome !

  2. Giving a look to the logs, it seems that you are using 1.1.7 version of the plugin in place of 1.2.1 that is newer and more stable.

    Regarding the GWT/Gxt versions supported (tested):
    Java 1.6.0_20
    GWT 2.1.1
    GXT 2.2.1

    Try first to align the HC-gxt version with 1.2.1.
    Otherwise write a post in Forum->Issues.
